The 6th Annual “Women to follow” Awards, celebrated at Banco Santander headquarters in Madrid, identifies great career paths and successful projects leaded by women during the previous year.
During the ceremony I had the privilege of being invited to, I was specially amazed, among other renowned, famous and talented women across the 6 leading categories, by Arancha Martinez, founder of ItWillBe.org.
This organization contributes to social inequality eradication, stablishing that innovation and technology can maximize the impact of social projects. Working mainly in India, one of their most powerful project is People’s Protection App.
This application can identify people though biometric data (facial patterns, fingerprints, palmprints) and thereby create individual registers for them. This way, vulnerable groups like refugees or orphaned children can credit their identity, solving the so far access barrier to social services and education. They have successfully launched it in India, for 5 to 17 years old homeless children (a potential 10 million people collective), and it´ll be also used in Senegal and Sierra Leona during the upcoming months.
They give visibility and protection to forgotten people.
Purpose converted into real action.
